In the course of investigating what the right acne solution is for you, you have probably stumbled across some pretty bizarre solutions to the skin condition that is known as acne. Even though there are some very non-traditional methods of treating acne out there, that doesn’t mean that they don’t work. When you think of the alternative as being spending a bunch of money on drugstore acne treatment products that don’t really work each week, then those alternative options may start sounding pretty good, such as a urine cure for acne.

Even though this may seem like a pretty off the wall idea as far as a way to treat your skin goes, it actually does work. Many people have claimed success by using urine in order to treat the acne on the skin. This method of treatment however doesn’t apply to people with all kinds of acne or skin, each person is different therefore they each require a different type of treatment, but some people can use urine in order to treat their acne. Urine by itself is not dirty or a health risk to anyone because it is sterile, unlike feces. When we urinate we are expelling all of the toxins in our body through a complex filtering system that is naturally built inside of each of us.

Urine contains the vitamins and the right level of acidity to remove the bacteria that is found in the pores of our skin. Acne is caused when there is a hormonal imbalance within the body. When this happens, the body automatically expels certain oils which seep into the pores and clog them up, creating the zits and pimples you know all too well as acne. In the long run you have to consider that applying a little bit of your own urine to the affected areas on your skin is a small price to pay when it comes to clearing up your skin for good.

As a self confessed chocoholic, when I first started getting acne the most important question to me was “Does chocolate cause acne?”

There are conflicting opinions about eating chocolate and whether it does or doesn’t cause acne. It’s a common question that I’m sure many acne sufferers would like to know so here’s some details about the effects of eating chocolate and how certain chocolate may actual contribute towards clearing your skin.

Chocolate in general will not be the sole cause of your acne but the sugar and chemicals in it could contribute to acne if you consume too much. It’s the same for any other foods in your diet if you eat far too much unhealthy food it will affect your body which can in turn affect your acne.

The cocoa in chocolate is actually great for your skin because it contains antioxidants among other beneficial ingredients. If you like drinking chocolate I’d opt for organic cocoa which has less sugar. Also look for cold compressed cocoa in particular because this has more of the good stuff like vitamins and minerals.

The best type of chocolate bar for your skin is dark chocolate as it contains more cocoa. Although the cocoa in chocolate can help your skin it’s not a miracle cure. It’s one of those little steps you can do as part of an overall acne treatment plan.

You know better than anyone if certain foods cause breakouts more than others. Trying to avoid consuming chocolate that is high in sugar and opting for an organic dark variety so that you don’t need to feel guilty when you indulge in your chocolate addiction. If you like milk chocolate then there’s no harm in alternating between the two kinds – it’s just dark chocolate is better for you.

85% of people suffer from acne at some point in their lives and if you are interested in healing acne, this article can help you get started. Unfortunately there is not one “cure” for all acne but there are definite steps you can take to start tackling it once and for all. If you want to heal acne you need to tackle it from all angles to ensure the best results. There are numerous factors which can cause and aggravate acne. Some of these factors are: poor skin hygiene and poor skin care, heredity oily skin, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies and intolerances, hormonal changes and hormonal imbalances.

There are medications which can help treat acne but these do not resolve the root cause and can have negative side effects. Some of the medications used for acne include: antibiotics, oral contraceptive pills, Isotretinoin and Nicotinamide. Antibiotics are used for short periods only so may not be suitable to handle to condition on a long-term basis. Oral contraceptives can be helpful if you are a woman which a hormonal imbalance although most women who have acne do not have an hormonal imbalance. Isotretinoin can have very negative side effects ranging from flushing to severe depression and suicidal thoughts! Nicotinamide can produce liver toxicity at high doses but your doctor will be able to advise you on the correct dosage. Basically, medications can be helpful mainly in the most severe causes but do have side effects. It is much better to try and heal acne by getting to and resolving some of the root causes first.

To try your best at healing acne, it is advised that you follow a program which includes: complete nutritional handling, spotting and handling any food allergies and intolerances, improving skin hygiene and skin care as well as reducing stress and bad lifestyle habits. The body can heal itself best when it is properly fed and has all the nutrients it needs. There are some vitamins which can help the skin heal itself and improve skin health. Therefore a proper diet and proper vitamin supplements can be helpful.

Skin hygiene is key to help avoid bacteria building up, avoid scarring and help the skin heal. This includes proper skin care and treatment for the skin. For example, some skin care products can strip the skin of it’s natural oils, making the skin too dry and then the skin starts creating even more oil – which can all make your acne worse. Therefore it is essential you get a proper skin care program. Stress and bad lifestyle habits can also contribute to your acne or make it worse. A lot of people start getting spots when under stress and if this happens to you it can be helpful to recognise when you get stressed and how to handle it.

To start healing acne you should tackle the problem from all angles as illustrated above. It could prove expensive to see a nutritionist and dermatologist to devise the best program for you but a cheaper alternative is to start educating yourself on these factors and devise your own home treatment. A great way to learn about all these points is to study some of the information products available online about healing acne once and for all.

Acne is commonly seen as a problem that only affects teenagers, unfortunately acne can also affect people who are in their 20′s. For this reason many more people are affected by acne that you may expect, but although there are no definite cures for acne, there are various ways that you can control acne on your skin.

The nature of acne itself means that it affects different people in different ways, therefore the control methods can vary in their effectiveness from person to person.

For this reason you should find out as much as you can about the type of acne that you suffer from. Acne can range from mild to severe. The best way to find out about your acne is to go and see your Doctor or Medical consultant. Once you are aware of the type of acne you can take steps to find out if there are any triggers for your acne.

Some people find that their acne is worsened depending on factors in their diet. In particular refined sugars and fats can cause an outbreak of acne. If you find that this is the case with you, then you can simply try cutting out certain foods from your diet and keep a record of this. This way you can work out if any particular food types affect your acne.

Also if you wish to keep control of your acne, try not to scratch the areas of skin that are affected by acne. As tempting as this is, it is probably the worse thing you can do. Not only are you inflaming the entire area but you are increasing the chances of causing acne scarring. Also you run the risk of spreading the acne onto other areas of the skin.

This is a good way to control your acne on the skin if your problem is to do with your diet. But there are other acne control methods which you can also use such as creams. You can get many over the counter creams that can help the inflammation and reduce the affected area. For this you will need to consult your Doctor who can recommend a specific cream that will be most affective to you.

When you are trying to control your acne, it is worth knowing which vitamins are best for you. Vitamin A is useful because research has shown that a lack of vitamin A can increase the inflammation acne causes. The reason for this is that vitamin A reduces the amount of sebum in the skin which leads to the skin becoming dry.

Scalp acne can be a very distressing problem but it is also one that not a lot of people are aware of due to a lack of publicity. Scalp acne is not as common as some of the other types of acne such as facial acne but it is still very distressing for the sufferer. Although it is concealed to a certain extent it can be more obvious when it is at the edge of the hair.

Some types of scalp acne can be quite mild and many people will go to the pharmacist and buy something to use themselves for this. Although it is possible to have a very mild type of scalp acne, there are also more severe types that require treatment on a more professional basis. If you are at all worried about your scalp acne or if it is irritating then it is best to see a dermatologist. They can help you to choose the best way of treating it so that you do not suffer from too much itchiness.

Scalp acne can be just as irritating as any other type of acne to the sufferer and it can easily be made worse by using the wrong type of hair products. It is always best to ask the pharmacies for a recommendation before buying any hair care products if you think that you might have scalp acne. It is important to make sure that the hair is kept clean because too much oil on the scalp can also be bad for this type of acne.

One change that you can make yourself is to make sure that your diet is good. It is best to avoid too many fatty foods because they contain a lot of oil and this is not good for anyone that suffers from acne. You should try to eat a well balanced diet that has enough fresh fruit and vegetables in it and you should also avoid eating too many sugary things and make sure that you drink enough water.

If you think that you might be suffering from scalp acne then it is very important to see your dermatologist or doctor as soon as possible this way they can start to treat the condition before it gets any worse. These conditions are usually best treated as early as possible and if you see your doctor early then they can recommend you to a dermatologist

This has to be a question many people ask themselves, is there a connection between acne and food?

As a sufferer of acne myself, I have also asked myself this many times, the difference being I have a couple of answers.

Over the past couple of years I have done some research into acne and food to see if their are reasons why the latter would cause an outbreak, and if so which foods. Do we get an outbreak of pimples because of eating milk, cheese or other dairy products? Do we also break out in spots because we ate a pizza? These are simple daily foods that nearly all of us eat, but do these foods actually cause an outbreak?

The simple answer to the above question is maybe. It all depends on the persons body who is eating such foods. Some peoples bodies cannot fully digest the waste fat in greasy foods such as pizza and french fries, so it secretes it through the skin causing acne. This is why only certain people have outbreaks after eating such foods, their internal digestive systems are different.

The simple way to see if your body works this way is to cut out high fat foods for a period of one to two months. If you see an improvement in that time, it’s obvious that your body cannot fully digest the fat in those products.

Another good tip is to substitute fast foods for fruits and vegetables, this might sound difficult and boring, but if you want to clear your acne up for good this is the only way.

Acne is a major problem of many teenagers and adults around the globe. Dealing with acne is very tragic for all of us. Buying all the available medications in the grocery but nothing works for you. Though there is successful treatment for acne, there are instances when acne leaves divots on your face but there are some who are left with reverse effect on their skin which is keloid acne scars.

These keloid scars are more visible on the skin surface that is raised and very unsightly. It is caused by overgrowth of the flesh from which an injury occurred. The skin can be damaged by breakouts and acne keloid scars develop on the spot where the pimple appeared. Your acne may be treated but leaves a reminder of your acne experience and these scars are very difficult to treat.

Although keloid acne are difficult to treat, you can make them less visible and noticeable over time when the bump becomes even on the surface skin. A technique which can help you lose that nasty keloid out of your face. Applying pressure on the bump for a period of time for around 3 to 5 minutes, do this three times a day. You can see results after a week and you can a difference and noticeable results.

This technique may work for you and most keloid cases, but its worth a try and no need to buy something. If it didn’t work for you there are also other treatments that you can try. Freezing the acne keloid scars is a procedure use to make them disappear or less visible. This procedure is quite quick and painless. Laser therapy is also known for its painless procedure and positive results. Other treatments are not applicable for some because it is very painful for them though with the same results.

These are other options that you can choose from, Radiation, injection and surgery. It can be frightening experience to undergo such pain in these procedures although they have the same outcomes which will make your acne keloid scars diminished. Another treatment that you can use is a silastic gel, a type sheeting that can be applied on the acne keloid scar and kept with a tape to avoid the tape from getting out of place. This is applied on the keloids for many nights and will flatten the keloid. There are also kinds of these tapes that have steroid content on them which is also known for its thinning effect on keloids.

Acne keloid scars are not harmful but they can reappear after they have been treated and other cases of these scars are very sensitive to touch. They easily get irritated when you frequently touch them. If you don’t want to have these acne keloid scars is to know how to prevent them to appear on you face. Remember to properly cleanse your skin with antibacterial soap to avoid infection and the right skin care products that is appropriate to your skin type. You can ask your dermatologist for more questions on how to get rid of your acne keloid scars and more about its prevention.

Choosing the right acne medication is an important part of treating blemished skin. There are a number of different treatment options available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Clearasil is the most commonly used over the counter acne medication, and is helpful in treating mild to moderate cases. This medicine contains benzoyl peroxide, which can help to dry out pimples, but may cause severe stinging, itching, peeling, and swelling on the areas that it is used on.

Proactiv is widely recognized due to its advertisements featuring celebrity endorsements. This treatment contains a three part regimen of a cleanser, toner, and lotion to heal and prevent breakouts. Proactiv also contains benzoyl peroxide, which is known for its side effects mentioned above. If you are wary of these treatments because of the side effects, perhaps you should consider a natural treatment instead of harmful prescription acne medication options.

For more severe cases, Accutane is a prescription acne medication that is considered to be a last resort treatment when your skin has not been responsive to any other product used. It is an oral medication that can be quite effective, yet can cause side effects such as dry skin, aching joints, and even severe birth defects if a female user becomes pregnant during use.

Retin A is a topical tretinoin acne medication that is used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. Its side effects include sensitivity to light, swelling and dryness of the skin, and blistering. Results will not occur immediately and it must be used continuously, even after acne has cleared, to remain effective.

One of the newer over the counter acne medications is called Acuzine, and it is a breakthrough natural treatment that can be as effective as some of the prescription acne medications, without the potential side effects.

Acuzine contains Vitamins C and E, aloe vera leaf, hydrolyzed collagen, and other therapeutic natural ingredients. The antioxidants protect your skin’s cells and tissues from the harmful effects of free radicals, which are unstable byproducts in the body that contribute to infections. Hydrolyzed collagen stimulates the natural production of collagen in the body to improve the appearance of the skin and also aids in your body’s ability to retain a healthy amount of water to prevent moisture loss. This innovative acne medication is free from side effects and can benefit the overall health of your entire body.

Talk to your dermatologist to determine which treatment is right for you. Prescription acne medications are usually the strongest, but you may be able to clear up acne breakouts with an over the counter acne medication such as Clearasil. As an alternative, you may want to try a natural antioxidant supplement, as it offers the least potential for nasty side effects.

There has been always a debate regarding the sex and acne. The sex and acne, myths and facts have no authenticity but they are strongly believed by the people all across the world. The number one issue that comes to any male’s mind is the link between the masturbation and acne. The history of masturbation holds many bizarre and that has been a moot point. The myth is masturbation can cause blindness, mental disturbance, acne, and/or severe hair growth.

Another thing that makes people to think that having sex regularly can make one’s beard to grow faster and so more manful. Whatever this means, the sex and acne has some relation in between them. In the most across-the-board sense, there is no doubt that there is a link between male sex hormones and the texture and condition of his skin and hair. Castrates, after all, do not go bald, do not grow beards, and do not get acne! But whether sexual exercises per se put hair on the chests (or onto the palms, for that matter!) nobody exactly knows, several shelves’ still deserve authentic research papers.

It is not known that sex raises the levels of sex hormones in the body. There have been many attempts to know the link between sex and acne including the burning question like can masturbation increase hormone – testosterone in the body?” probably yes and probably no!

Even if sex increases the hormone production, nobody is dead-sure if this means it might crater the face or chrome the dome. However, some of the holistic sciences such as Ayurveda believe that over-sex can produce weakness and also lower down the immune system of the body that in turn, may result in acne formation. On the other hand, a recent survey concludes that the relation between sex hormones and characters of hairs and skins are very complicated and seek further researches and investigations.

When a person reaches his or her puberty, the body starts experiencing the hormonal changes that finally lead to the development and maturation of the sexual organs along with their prime features. These hormonal alterations might also cause acne or zits. Acne is associated with such changes and might not be linked with sexual activity then.

The truth is that during puberty, the level of sexual hormones known as androgens (particularly testosterone) is more eminent and they might heighten the sexual desire simultaneously, they also increase the production of some special body oils known as sebum. If some particular bacteria known as P. acnes are present together with this extra sebum, then this can end up into acne development. This is the only link that can be established between sex and acne. So the truth remains that the sex is not sole cause of acne and also that acne can in no way heighten anyone’s sexual desire or activity.

Many natural holistic healers favor not to have too much sex as it not only causes weakness in the body but can also give rise to other health ailments.

Acne is a skin condition that causes the pores of the skin to become infected and thus resulting in embarrassing and often cumbersome acne. Acne strikes at seemingly random among the people who suffer from it and can be devastating to someone’s life and well-being. There are ways to get rid of acne and even diminish the appearance of acne scarring, but without the right information and tools you could instead worsen your condition or cause further permanent damage to your skin.

When looking for an acne treatment it’s important to know what to look for in one that works. The keys areas of acne are the infection, the cleansing of the skin and the symptoms of the infection. If all of these areas are not equally considered and worked with, then the problem will not go away. Rubbing alcohol is one of those acne treatments that have been talked about for years, but does it really work? Well, let’s look at the facts of rubbing alcohol. Alcohol in general can offer cleansing properties as a bacteria killer and works to protect an open wound, that’s why it’s used in bathroom and medical facilities all around the world for open wounds. But, alcohol also has harsh effects and can be extremely drying which actually stunts the re-growth of skin cells, which is essential to the healing process of acne affected pores.

While, this method of treatment may offer temporary relief it will not kill the bacteria deep in the pore and with the drying effects to the skin, you could cause more damage than help. Instead, stick with the normal realms of acne treatments in looking for a quality cleansers, keeping your skin clean, toned, protected and treated, You must have a diligent skin care routine in order to have beautiful skin. It may take a bit more work, but after all aren’t you worth the time it takes to get clearer, healthier skin? Not only will you have better skin, you will have more confidence and a great reception from those around you.
